These are the terms for this expiration date calculator, in plain words. Using the site means you accept them; if you would rather not, please don't use it.

What it is

A free tool that works out an expiry or best before date from a start date and a shelf life, and counts the days until a date. It is free for personal or work use.

The label comes first

This calculator adds a shelf life you provide to a date; it does not know how long any product actually lasts. For anything you eat, drink, take or depend on, the date printed on the packaging and the manufacturer's guidance take precedence over any figure here.

Not safety or medical advice

Nothing here is food-safety, medical or storage advice. Storage conditions change how long things keep, and a calculated date is only as good as the shelf life and handling behind it.

Fair use

Everyday use has no limits. Please don't swamp the site with bots, copy it wholesale, overload it, or use it unlawfully, so it stays quick for the next visitor.

Ownership

The design, the code and the wording belong to us. The plain date maths is everyone's to use. What we ask is that you not copy the whole site and present it as your own.
